grassDay 23, Week 4:  Humility (Grass Seed)

Today’s scripture passage:

See how the lilies of the field grow.  They do not labor or spin.  I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Matthew 6:28-30 NIV

The first hardy daffodils sometimes bloom in January here, if the winter is mild.  Today they are blooming in my woods, oblivious to the wintry northern winds.  These flowers cheer me with their bright yellow faces amid a sea of dead leaves.  Their blooms are a picture of God’s faithfulness.  Year after year, God sees to it that these flowers rebloom.  Likewise he watches over me, protects me, and grows me into the servant he wants me to be.

Today’s reflection:

What does a humble spring flower teach you about God?
