clay potDay 17, Week 3:  God’s Will (Clay Pot)

Today’s scripture passage:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

This popular verse was originally promised to God’s people in exile.  This verse also holds promise for today.  Sometimes God has asked me to trust him when I was afraid of the future, such as when I faced a loss of income for over a year.  I had to trust that God’s plans for me were good, even when I didn’t know how to either cut back or make up for the lost income.  I can look back and see that his plans were indeed good for me, and he used that time to refine my faith and lead me to better opportunities.  God’s faithfulness and good plans for me then help me to trust him for more good plans in the future.

Today’s reflection:

How are God’s plans good for you, even if they are sometimes difficult to accept?
